Trolls Band Together Release Date, Cast, When And Where To Watch Live Streaming

11 months ago By Movies Desk

On November 17, 2023, the much-anticipated third installment of the Trolls franchise, “Trolls Band Together,” is set to hit theaters in the U.S. and Canada. Walt Dohrn and Tim Heitz co-direct this upcoming animated adventure, set to be a delightful family-friendly option for the approaching holiday season. Produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Universal Pictures, the film continues the success of its predecessors, “Trolls” and “Trolls World Tour.”

After captivating audiences in Europe, Brazil, and Mexico, the U.S. release holds special significance for fans. The digital version is set to debut within the initial three weeks, strategically timed for the festive Christmas season. Expect the digital release to hit platforms such as Peacock in March 2024, aligning with DreamWorks Animation’s established pattern for releases.

The movie boasts a star-studded cast, including familiar voices like Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Camila Cabello, Eric Andre, Troye Sivan, Kid Cudi, and others. Anna Kendrick returns as Poppy, the queen of the Pop Trolls, and Justin Timberlake voices Branch once again. The ensemble also features Ron Funches, Kunal Nayyar, Kenan Thompson, RuPaul Charles, and Amy Schumer, ensuring a captivating and entertaining performance.

The plot of “Trolls Band Together” adds an intriguing layer to Branch’s character. Poppy discovers his secret past as a member of the boy band ‘BroZone,’ alongside his brothers Floyd, John Dory, Spruce, and Clay. When Floyd is kidnapped, Poppy and Branch embark on a heartfelt journey to reunite the brothers and rescue Floyd from the clutches of pop-star villains Velvet and Veneer.

Directed by Walt Dohrn and Tim Heitz, the film falls under the main genre of Animation, with additional elements of Adventure and Comedy. This dynamic duo has crafted a visually stunning and emotionally resonant story, adding another gem to their impressive portfolio.

“Trolls Band Together” strategically avoids the on-demand release route chosen for “Trolls World Tour” due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, it follows the approach of the first Trolls film, opting for an exclusive theatrical release initially. Set to clash with other highly-anticipated films, including the Hunger Games prequel “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” Taika Waititi’s sports comedy “Next Goal Wins,” and Eli Roth’s holiday slasher film “Thanksgiving,” Trolls Band Together aims to capture the audience’s hearts on the big screen.

After two films of friendship and flirtation, “Trolls Band Together” marks a significant development in the relationship between Poppy and Branch. Now officially a couple, or as fans fondly call them, #broppy, their journey takes a delightful turn as they face challenges, uncover secrets, and explore Branch’s musical past. The narrative introduces BroZone, Poppy’s favorite boy band phenomenon, and sets the stage for an emotional and adventurous rescue mission.

Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake, reprising their roles as Poppy and Branch respectively, bring their infectious chemistry to the forefront. Kendrick, known for her versatility in musicals like “Into the Woods” and the Pitch Perfect series, adds depth to the character of Poppy.

Timberlake, a global pop sensation, not only lends his voice but also acts as the executive music producer, infusing the film with his musical prowess. Their collaboration has been a driving force behind the success of the Trolls franchise.

Originating from the popular troll dolls of the 1960s, the Trolls franchise has come full circle. The films not only entertain but also serve as a lucrative avenue for Universal, leading to the creation of new troll dolls based on the movie characters. Beyond toys, the franchise expands into themed merchandise like lunch boxes, sleeping bags, video games, and even a touring concert. This multi-dimensional approach enhances the franchise’s value, creating a vibrant and engaging experience for fans of all ages.

All three Trolls films, including “Trolls Band Together,” embrace the unique concept of computer-animated jukebox musical comedies. Taking existing songs and weaving them into a new narrative, the films primarily feature upbeat pop songs. Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake, the musical anchors of the series, infuse energy into the storyline. Timberlake’s involvement extends to executive music production, with the hit song “Can’t Stop the Feeling” from the first film achieving chart-topping success.

The success of the Trolls franchise extends beyond the silver screen. Two TV series, “Trolls: The Beat Goes On!” on Netflix and “Trolls: TrollsTopia” on Hulu and Peacock, cater to young audiences. Additionally, NBC has produced two half-hour Christmas specials, “Trolls Holiday” in 2017 and “Trolls: Holiday in Harmony” in 2021, further solidifying the franchise’s presence in the entertainment landscape.

‘Trolls Band Together’ stands out as a lively addition to the cherished Trolls franchise, offering a captivating blend of visuals and music that appeals to audiences of every age. Boasting a stellar cast, an intriguing storyline, and character growth, the movie promises yet another unforgettable cinematic journey. With the release date drawing near, fans eagerly anticipate embarking on an enchanting adventure with Poppy and Branch, immersing themselves in a world brimming with music, friendship, and the enchantment of Trolls.”
